Insignificant?

Shiphrah and Puah

Shiphrah and Puah sat at the birthing stool, ushering into the world a little person for whom God had big plans.

These two midwives defied Pharoah’s edict to kill all Hebrew male babies. Their own names are scarcely remembered, but the name of one for whom they were willing to risk their lives is remembered and revered for all time: Moses

Of the five women God used to spare, and care for, infant Moses, these two courageous midwives are perhaps the greatest unsung heroes.

Shiphrah and Puah inspire me

©      to obey God’s will over man’s, to choose life over death, others’ well-being over my own, no matter the cost.

©      to assist God in spiritual birthing of new generations.

©      to step out in obedience, courage and faith from my tiny corner of the world and of history, to make a difference for all eternity.

Think you’re insignificant? Think again. As part of God’s grand plan, we can help change the world.
